Ollie’s Bargain Outlet & Crunch Fitness to join Foodland, Badcock, and AutoZone
FLORENCE, AL – Two new-to-market tenants have signed leases at the Florence Plaza Shopping Center. Ollie’s Bargain Outlet will move into the 31,875 square feet currently occupied by Big Lots, while a new, freestanding 25,000-square-foot building is being planned for Crunch Fitness near the northern boundary of the property.
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is a highly differentiated and fast-growing, extreme value retailer of brand name merchandise at drastically reduced prices. Known for their assortment of “good stuff cheap,” Ollie’s will offer the Shoals a unique, fun, and engaging treasure hunt shopping experience with a broad selection of brand name products, including housewares, books and stationery, bed and bath, floor coverings, toys, and hardware. Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ollie’s has over 300 store locations in 23 states across the Eastern portion of the United States.
Known for its colorful personality and “no judgment” mantra, Crunch Fitness plans to provide all of the essentials needed for a great workout. They will offer entry-level memberships that provide access to state-of-the-art equipment, an online nutrition program, and one free personal training session. Crunch also plans to offer access to group fitness classes, small group training, online workout videos, tanning, and hydromassage. Crunch Fitness has over 1.3 million members at more than 300 locations in 29 states and 5 countries. The Florence location will make the fourth Alabama location of Crunch Fitness, with the nearest in Tuscaloosa.
“We’re excited to see the first phase of renovations begin at Florence Plaza,” states Justin Bishop, whose company, Pounders & Associates, provides commercial real estate leasing services for the shopping center. Renovations to the storefront at the former Big Lots space will begin in March and will provide a fresh, updated look. The existing pylon signage is also being updated. “Both of these tenants focus on providing exceptional value for their customers, and I believe they will complement the existing line up of national retailers and local businesses at Florence Plaza.”
Built in 1970, Florence Plaza is a 125,000-square-foot grocery-anchored retail center situated on more than sixteen acres at the intersection of Florence Boulevard and Darby Drive. The property was purchased in 1996 by local grocer and businessman Bob Love, whose family continues to own and operate the property.
